EPA Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools

The EPA Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Tools for Schools (TfS) Program (http://www.epa.gov/iaq/schools/) consists of 4 surveys. Each survey provides you with valuable information on the Indoor Air Quality in your buildings. Our implementation has been reviewed by the MN Department of Health and addresses the IAQ survey requirements.

The IAQ Tools for Schools Program is a comprehensive resource to help schools maintain a healthy environment in school buildings by identifying, correcting, and preventing IAQ problems. Poor indoor air quality can impact the comfort and health of students and staff, which, in turn, can affect concentration, attendance, and student performance. In addition, if schools fail to respond promptly to poor IAQ, students and staff are at an increased risk of short-term health problems, such as fatigue and nausea, as well as long-term problems like asthma.

Classroom Survey

Air quality issues can affect student and teacher performance. The purpose of this survey is to identify any indoor air quality issues inside the classroom. Issues are identified by our workflow engine and assigned for resolution. There are 15 questions in this survey.

Mechanical Room Survey

Issues in a mechanical room can cause issues in many rooms in a building. The 6 question survey is designed to help identify these issues.

Air Handler Survey

IAQ issues in an air handler can cause poor indoor air quality in several rooms in a building. The exhaustive 21 question survey not only helps you improve the air quality, but also help you maintain your equipment and keep it running efficiently.

Building Exterior Survey

Problems on the building exterior can negatively affect the indoor air quality. That is why we have developed this 15 question survey to improve indoor air quality from the outside-in. Protect your investment by identifying issues before they become huge problems.
