EPA Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools

The EPA Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Tools for Schools (TfS) Program (http://www.epa.gov/iaq/schools/) consists of 4 surveys. Each survey provides valuable information on the Indoor Air Quality in your buildings. Our implementation has been reviewed by the MN Department of Health and addresses the IAQ survey requirements.

The IAQ Tools for Schools Program is a comprehensive resource to help schools maintain healthy environments in school buildings by identifying, correcting, and preventing IAQ problems. Poor indoor air quality can impact the comfort and health of students and staff, which, in turn, can affect concentration, attendance, and student performance. In addition, if schools fail to respond promptly to poor IAQ, students and staff are at an increased risk of short-term health effects such as fatigue and nausea, as well as long-term problems like asthma.

Classroom Survey

Air quality issues can affect student and teacher performance. The purpose of this 15 question survey is to identify any indoor air quality issues inside the classroom. Issues are identified by our workflow engine and assigned for resolution.

Mechanical Room Survey

Issues in a mechanical room can cause issues in many rooms in a building. The 6 question survey is designed to help identify these issues.

Air Handler Survey

IAQ issues in an air handler can cause poor indoor air quality in several rooms in a building. The exhaustive 21 question survey not only helps you improve the air quality, but also help you maintain your equipment and keep it running efficiently.

Building Exterior Survey

Problems on the building exterior can negatively affect the indoor air quality. That is why we have developed this 15 question survey to improve indoor air quality from the outside-in. Protect your investment by identifying issues before they become huge problems.

IAQ Call In Concern Web Form

Indoor air quality problems include concerns with temperature control, ventilation and air pollutants. Using a web form rather than a paper form to address allows these concerns to be submitted and resolved as quickly as possible.

Radon Sampling

After smoking, radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United states, and the EPA estimates that more than 70,000 schoolrooms in use today have high short-term radon levels. These figures serve to highlight the importance of radon sampling in schools. However, it can be a time consuming and tedious process.

HandiForms™ streamlines the entire process. From the deployment and retrieval of testing devices, through the documentation process (Chain of Custody or COC), you will not need to fill out a single paper form. HandiForms will take care of the busy work for you!

Lead in Water Sampling

Lead in Water Sampling is key to identifying water sources with high lead content. Once identified, these sources can be remediated. We help you track the sources, samples and documentation process (Chain of Custody or COC).

Electrical Safety Audit

Electricity has long been recognized as a serious workplace hazard, exposing building occupants to electric shock, electrocution, burns, fires, and explosions. By completing our Electrical Safety Audit you are taking steps to improve your building safety. When you combine it with the IAQ Classroom Survey you will save time. We pass data from one survey to another to eliminate duplicate data entry.

Hoist Safety Program Audit

It is critical you review your Hoist Safety Program on an annual basis. Identify issues with our Hoist Safety Program Audit.

Forklift Safety Program Audit

It is critical you review your Forklift Safety Program on an annual basis. Identify issues with our Forklift Safety Program Audit.

Integrated Pest Management Program Audit

Make sure your Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program is under control. Identified issues are processed by our workflow engine and assigned for resolution.

Kitchen Safety Survey

The Kitchen can be a dangerous place. The Kitchen Safety Survey takes you through the process of creating a safer work environment for kitchen workers.

Hearing Conservation Program Audit

Once hearing loss occurs, it cannot be restored. Hearing Conservation Program Audit is designed to help you identify issues in your Hearing Conservation Program.

Personal Protective Equipment Program Audit

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) can help employees stay safe around hazardous situations or materials. However, it is important the PPE is matched for the hazards and people have been properly fitted and trained.

Respiratory Protection Program Audit

It is important your Respiratory Protection Program is reviewed annually. Our Audit will log the results and help you identify issues that need to be resolved.

Playground Safety Survey

The Playground Safety Survey helps you identify issues on the playground. This can help reduce injuries and keep kids safe.

Roofing Survey (for deferred maintenance, asbestos presence)

The Roofing Survey is great for logging your roof assessment. Log roofing type, sections, flashing, condition, and asbestos. The information can then be used to create roof maps to be used to make business decisions.

Mock OSHA Inspections

The Mock OSHA Inspection is designed to help you find issues before OSHA does. Issues identified in the survey are processed by our workflow engine and assigned to people for resolution. This survey can save you time, violations and people’s lives.
